Michelangelo's Fave at Gelato Blu

By Paul Galvani

Published on August 19, 2008 at 12:34pm

Although it comes in small or medium, it's hard to imagine eating anything but a large ($4.95) "Michelangelo" at Gelato Blu (5710 Memorial, 713-880-5900). An Italian gelato we'd never tried before, it consists of ricotta cheese mixed with fig paste, and it's one of the most unusual (in a good way) taste experiences ever. The ricotta makes you think you're eating a chilled cheesecake with figs. As for Michelangelo, we're not sure whether he would approve or not.
