Attention, celebrity gawkers: The 78th Annual Academy Awards are upon us. But that doesn't mean you have to stay home. You can see how many little bald guys Brokeback Mountain gets during a night on the town.

The women-only Crave Oscar Party is a luxurious evening featuring all the best in creature comforts – massages, manicures, martinis and mini-facials, not to mention a full catered dinner and a generous bag stuffed full of goodies like beauty products, magazines and candles. And when the ladies aren't busy with the awards -- who really cares about best technical effects supervisor? – they can enjoy spa services, shop the fashion boutiques or watch belly dancers and a fashion show. The best part, of course, is that attendees are encouraged to wear their pajamas and fuzzy slippers (best PJs take home a prize). Ladies who remember their fuzzy friends by bringing food or toy donations for Citizens for Animal Protection will be eligible for even more fabulous door prizes. The girlfest runs from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fox Sports Grill at the Galleria, 5175 Westheimer. For information and registration, call 832-607-4081 or visit www.cravepartyhouston.com. $45.

For Oscar fans with slightly less estrogen, there's still a big celebration for you at the Red Carpet Bash at Alamo Drafthouse. Not only can you watch the big show complete with food-and-drink service, but you can also participate in such manly activities as betting (for a massage, but still) or bidding on a night with the Boo Busting Babes, a paranormal research group. (Don't forget your proton-pack, Ghostbusters.) 6 p.m. Alamo Draft House, 1000 West Oaks Mall. For information, call 281-920-9211 or visit www.alamodrafthouse.com/westoaks. Free.
